He is licensed by the Supreme Court of Texas, the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas, and the United States Court of Appeals, Fifth Circuit. He is a member of The Houston Bar Association, The Texas Bar Association in American Bar Association, The Houston Civil Trial Lawyers and Appellate Specialists, and The American Trial Lawyers Association. He is Board Certified in Civil Trial Law by The Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He is 64 years old and has practiced in Houston since 1972. He is married to Evelyn Heim-Grubb, Vice-President of The Texas Medical Center. He has a daughter who is a Board Certified Pediatrician, a son who is a senior at St. Thomas High School, and a son who is a senior at Lanier Middle School.
